No sewing all week, until today...

This is what my closet looks like.
Too many purses.
To make ends meet, I need to sell around 10 a month.
With God, that is doable.
After all, for this month, I have already made 21 bags.
This is the second one done today...
the first being the black with zebra lining that I posted earlier today.
Third one done today.
This is the girls' fav.
Although they can't stop laughing when they see me model.
Not sure what it is about my model walk with a new purse on my shoulder that sets them off?
Skinny butts don't wiggle all that much!
:)

Attempted "branding" and a black with zebra bag

Love it as a zipper pull.
This is the branding for now.
Love having some extra metal on the bags.
Makes me feel a little more professional.
Talking with a lady about other ideas...but this is it for now
This one is a special order that I recieved yesterday.
To be delivered when I travel for a funeral this coming week.

2 Peacock bags...can you find the differences?

This pattern was so quick and fun.
Love working with these fabrics.
I sewed up these two beauties and then cut out two more purses.
The cut out pile is getting bigger again.
And the ready-to-sew pile is down to only two purses left in it, and one I don't have the right handle for.
Need to get the fusible part on the cut-out pile so it can become the ready-to-sew pile.
There are even two duffle bags in the cut-out pile.
Purses seem so much faster if you don't have to sit and cut out, then cut interfacing, then iron them first.
I am up to 17 for the month, I think.
Feels productive.
Wonder how many I can make while the girls are at their dads?

A modern day carpet bag?

This one reminds me of a carpet bag.  It is pretty big.
Wonder how much candy you could sneak into the theatre in this one?
This one is another from the same pattern I spent the last two days doing.  They take a long time but zip instead of snapping.

The last sewing machine needle...broken

All I had left to do, at the end of the girls' "naptime" was to attach the pink handle.  And while doing so, I broke the last machine needle I had on hand.  And had to wait through two thunder storms, and dinner, before being able to go get more needles.  But, it is now finished...and one of my first purses that closes with a zipper rather than velcro or a magnetic closure.  Not sure yet if I am completely happy with it.  I have two more out of the same pattern...we will see what I think when they are done.
This is a view of the inside pocket and zipper.
It goes all the way across the back side along the bottom and is divided in four sections.
This is what the sky looked like after another thunderstorm.
This was the color straight in front of my door...
and it was this gorgeous-ness to the right.
Amazing colors and crazy differences.
I tried to photograph the lightening that was going on at the same time...
But I wasn't fast enough.

two more purses

First of two purses made today
Second one.
I think the count for July is up to 11 now.
And 5 more cut out, waiting for their turn to become a purse instead of a pile.

Zebra purse and Elephant/Giraffe purse and a door?

Made two more today!  So much happier when I can see my productiveness.  And filling a closet up with purses is a lot of fun too!
If you look close, there are elphants and giraffes on there.
This one is for a friend.  The color/print combo was her idea and she loved this pattern.
This is what we did after the purses.  Just a curtain rod and lots of ribbon.
The door was busted and she doesn't like her door closed anyways, so we didn't have him replace it yet.
She is obviously loving it.

Two more purses...

Kept busy today.  Thought I was going to get to sleep in, but that is not in the cards for this summer.  I was awakened by a phone call from California...that I hung up.  Then couldn't get back to sleep.
While T and H were eating breakfast I showered.  Then we returned books at the library and got new ones.  Went to Tuesday morning where I stocked away two small gifts for H's upcoming 8th bday.  (she is wavering between Littlest Pet shop and Ponyville, from My Little Pony, for her bday).  Then to Aldi's where we broke our record for highest receipt.  $116.  For us, and considering this won't last us a month like it used to, that is about $40 higher than normal and only $20 of it was for the upcoming Maplewoods BSU reunion.  Thank God the money, for now, was there.  After paying off the ER docs from March, there isn't a whole lot left.  But God has cared for us so far, and He isn't going to leave us hanging now.  After all, in January, there wasn't a cent.  So, a tiny bit is better than nothing at all.  After unloading all the groceries, while the two girls scampered into the house, and finding spots for it in the pantry and freezer, (after all 12 pkgs of buns and hotdogs take a lot of room)...we ate lunch and split off again.  H wanted to play with T desperately but T wasn't having it.  She requires a lot of alone time, and was making up for lost time today I guess.  So I talked H into hanging out with me while I sewed.  She wasn't thrilled with the idea...but it worked off and on.  And obviously, I got two purses sewn.  And from the last pic...there are more purses in my closet then clothes.  Of course, part of the reason for that is the clothes are still packed.  I don't have my dresser yet...didn't fit in the moving truck and not sure it will fit in the van.
Other than wiggling a loose tooth, we are just hanging out now.  Hopefully the tooth will fall out soon.  Super loose and the gum above it is discolored.  This one has been loose since before the move...hmmmm.

Large Purse

It's magic.  From this huge pile of pieces...
to a gigantic purse.
That is the Large Lowes box behind it.
It did not look that big on the pattern.
Wonder who will fall in love with this one?

Thank you!

Okay...I am sitting here with tears...overwhelmed by the fact that even tho this was just started last night and emails were sent out late, I already have six followers.  Let me tell you my friend, you mean the world to me.  Each and every one of you.  Life may not be what I expected...but I am blessed beyond measure by a great God and friends that He has brought into my life when I needed them most.  Thank You!

Starting over...again

Well...I guess it is official now.
I have a new email address and a new blog.
So thankful for one amazing constant despite all the change.  God has not changed.  And He never will.  And as I thanked Him in my quiet time this morning...He is the One thing that someone else has no effect on.  Love that!  No matter what else may have to change...He will not.
Also incredibly thankful for the friends who have stood by me despite my moodiness in all this.
All I can say is this...if someone made it where everything in your life had to change, how would you feel?  Would you be able to just get over it or would it throw you for a loop?
I am in the trying to get out of the loop stage.
The other thing I am super appreciative of...all the prayers people are sending heavenward on my behalf.  Thanks and please keep it up.
By the way, actually got a little bag sewn up...special order.  Pic is of it!
