Applique quilt attempt...

without borders, with traced papers

with borders.
The outer edge is fabric I have had for over a year, just waiting for an idea of how to use it.
checked a book out of the library with this pattern (Where the Heart is), and gave it a go

with borders, beginning to cut and pin the pieces on

I may make H count all these pieces...I imagine there are over 100.
I think I am going to hand applique them on...thru all the thicknesses.
This is bigger than I expected...wider then crib size, too small for a throw.
I had assumed that it was a wall-hanging.
When it is done, what do I call it?

Recycling and a new start

Love the above pic...that is all that is left of one pair of jeans.

The pile of scrapped jean pieces.

Close up.

Pile of fabric to be recycled.
Hoping to make a denim quilt.
Anyone got more jeans with ripped knees that I can recyle?
Would love to have variation in color.

Scrapped part of very old, well-loved quilt.

The useable pieces that will be recycled into pillows.

New project started.
Found a huge quilt book selection at my new library.
This is my first applique process...
this is the foundation part.
And required more piecing then I have done before.
Houses and trees and hearts to come.
And, no, I can NOT picture it done.
That is a lot of color.
