Day of rest, for the most part

Did a sort of trial set up. And then started packing it all up for transport and sorting out bags that still need priced before they can be packed. 

This fixture doesn't have it's stand yet. And I still need to finish shelves for the ladder system. But progress. 

And then started packing. And yes, making a list. That is a lot of stuff to not forget!

Countdown to our first festival and outdoor booth

My mind is going so many directions at once...and I'm not a full two months out from the last concussion yet, so that feels even more crazy than normal. 

We are less than two weeks out from our first outdoor, three day, festival. I love that Simply Memorable will be represented and we have so much to for in our 10x10 spot. 

And so many projects going right now. The ladders are almost finished and waiting for shelves...they will be one whole side of the tent. Ten cell phone wristlets are done. The bag count is close to 40. The Eiffel Tower set was just bought, so hoping to be able to get another set made. There is a list of signs waiting to be made. Ten drawstring backpacks were cut out today. Multiple ribbon keychain wristlets were started...just waiting on their hardware. Two more canvas and "leather" bags were cut out and waiting to be constructed. Lists of needed items (that I hadn't remembered or thought of) have been added to the list. 

All of which is happening with a sewing room that is still scattered all over the house because of the tree that fell on the house last week. 

And I am fighting hard not to become overwhelmed or scared. To remember that God not only knows our need, He set us on this path and adventure and He is my Provider. Even with the best of the best marketing ideas, if He isn't making the way, it won't happen anyways. So I am choosing to trust. He has always made the way for me to follow what He's asked of me, and He has been showing me a lot lately that I am right where He wants me to be. 

And with every thing I can cross off the list, I am feeling more like I can do this. He has brought me so far from where I was right after the concussion. I can sew longer and still visit with my daughter at the same time (oldest is away at church camp for the first time). I'm definitely getting stronger despite the times my brain "trips up" and so thankful for that. And thankful for a Daddy God that never gives up on me even when I cannot "feel" Him. And some amazing friends/family cheering me on!  Even in the struggles and the hard stuff, life is still good...there are still positives to acknowledge and be thankful for....

And the countdown continues :)

Pattern making

Last night I had a very specific goal in mind...to make a pattern for the iPhone wristlets I wanted to make for the festival show in Gower at the end of the month. I had seen pics, but none of the ones I saw included pockets for cards and I knew I wanted that AND the zipper pocket for cash. And I didn't want people to have to take their iPhone out of its protective case to fit either. And I had to make a pattern because I want to make at least a dozen of these. Quilted of course. 

Due to concussion residual issues, this was a harder process then normal for me. But I got super excited when my first attempt turned out so cute...

...until I realized it was too narrow for a driver's license or debit card to fit in the card slots and an iPhone would only fit if you took the case off. 

So, I sat down with my pattern pieces and phone and too small wristlet and stared at it trying to figure out how much bigger I needed to expand the pieces. For a long time. I also knew I wanted a smaller tab for the strap to attach to, so that was fixed first. Eventually, I got a new pattern made, and then the new improves version of the wristlet quilted and put together (around 10 o'clock last night).

I really love this fabric and had cut a cross shoulder bag out of it before working on this...glad there were enough fabric pieces leftover to do this twice...

I love that the flap covers the cards and you still have another pocket to carry cash. And that you don't have to worry about pulling either out when you slide the phone out. And I've already gotten questions on Facebook about how much I am going to be selling these for. Which I am still trying to figure out. 😋
